7-day Travel Diary in Cappadocia (Day 6)
The tour continued with a visit to the small town of Güvercinlik, which is known for its beautiful pigeon houses carved into the cliffs. These pigeon houses were used for collecting pigeon droppings, which were used as fertilizer for the vineyards and orchards. It was interesting to learn about the important role that pigeons played in the region’s agriculture.
Next, we visited the Göllüdağ Crater Lake, which is a stunning natural wonder with crystal-clear waters surrounded by lush greenery. We took a short hike around the lake, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and taking in the beautiful scenery. It was a refreshing change of pace from the previous days’ activities.
In the evening, we attended a traditional Turkish night, which included music, dancing, and delicious food. We tried a variety of meze, kebabs, and baklava, and enjoyed the lively atmosphere. It was a great way to end the trip and experience some of the local culture and traditions. Overall, my trip to Cappadocia was an unforgettable experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves history, nature, and adventure.
